Introduction

This is a drawing from an architecture workshop last year. I chose this drawing as I have not had a lot of experience with doing creative pieces, and when I first started this course I struggled to complete a piece of work that I was proud of. With this submission, it was one of the first times I felt proud of what I had achieved. I still have a lot of room for improvement but I was proud that I experimented with various techniques and worked really hard on it.

The palace of Versailles in France is to me a great piece of architecture. Its so extravagant yet its beautiful with its intricate and detailed interiors. I also love the layout, its very smooth and flowing. When you walk through it, you get a sense of the people, the royalty, that lived there so many years ago, it holds its history beautifully. It also gives a great first impression as you walk up the hill towards it, the first sight you get is breathtaking.

This is a photograph of the library in the University of Salamanca, in Salamanca, Spain. It was sealed off to the public and it just struck me as so historical and wonderful. Its such a lovely library, with gorgeous ladders and the old globe, and it just seemed so untouched and perfect. I found it beauitful.
