Final Design

I kept my final design really simple, with little embellishment, as, in my opinion, both Mueck and Banksy do this with their artwork. To me, the overwhelming thing about Mueck's art is that he stretches things to increased proportions, making you notice things in normal objects and people that you wouldn't see before. When you enter his space up the stairs, the first thing you'll see is his big art on the protruding wall, with all the gentle curves pointing towards it accentuating this view. The emphasised blocks around the walls and the transparent glass curves are meant to be huge compared to the humans who will walk through, dwarfing them, as does Mueck's art.
Banksy's work could be called graffiti by some, so I 'graffitied' it onto the very floor of his space. As the people go down the spiral staircase, its intense texture on the walls overwhelms their senses, sending a powerful message, just as his art does. Exiting the stairs, the people are met with an image of Banksy's work facing them on the floor, demanding change. Whether it be political, personal, emotional, physical- that is up to the person to interpret. Moving around the stairs, the image is repeated again, again facing them, further enhancing the message.
I left the middle space as quite bare, so that the emphasis would instead be on the top and lower levels, and the artists, their work ad the messages behind them. I struggled quite a bit with Google Sketchup, this being my first time using it, and found it difficult to portray my buildings and ideas accurately. I've definitely improved but there is certainly a lot more for me to learn.

Initial Sketchup Attempt

My first attempt at Sketchup, didn't quite turn out the way I had in mind, however I think was due to my lack of experience with the program. I intend on spending more time playing around with it to get comfortable with the controls and hopefully it will then be easier to portray my buildings as I want them to be.
