Final Environment files

This shot taken from a distance shows the difference between Oprah and Ive's spaces. Ive's space is very flat and not very visibly from afar, in contrast to the strong tall structure of Oprah's area. This reflects the difference in their power- Oprah is a household name, you can say her first or last name and people will instantly know who you mean. Jonathan Ive however is not a very common name, many people do not know who he is- however once it is explained that he is one of Apple's chief designers, do you actually comprehend how powerful he really is. Likewise, Oprah's space can be seen from a distance but Ive's space only becomes more visible as you get closer.

This view shows how Oprah's space is higher up in the landscape, making her more visible, similar to her power and influence, whereas Ive is nestled in the landscape, enclosed by his surrounding landscape, similar to how Ive himself is not as influential as his surroundings and his environment (the Apple company).

The meeting space, nestled between the two spaces, near the middle of the bridge. Meeting in middle ground.

Lower shot to enhance the vastness of Oprah's power, extending to the sky, such as her power and influence seems to be forever extending. Her lift is also visible on the side.

Ive's space and elevator, nestled down in the valley, shielding him from view when people are far away.

Final Sketchup Models

The Dining table and chairs were designed to reflect the individual spaces of the two clients. Oprah's chair is similar to her space with the strong triangular shapes, which visually overpower the soft curves of Ive's chair. Her chair is also more throne like in shape, with its very strong and tall back, giving it a regal feel as Oprah is considered Queen of talk show television.

Oprah's Elevator is very simple, to portray her strength and influence- it's transparent to show that she is very open when it comes to her fame, and its not enclosed as she is exposed to the public and the world around her through her fame.

Ive's elevator is fully enclosed, to reflect not only him but the type of fame and power he possesses. He is so influential through his work with Apple and yet his name is so unknown. The vibrant and chaotic texture on his elevator reflects his work and its strong power over the public, and it hides him inside the smooth spherical shape, which is actually made up of different curved pieces to represent his long journey with Apple that took many steps to get to the fame and influence it has now.

Ive's space is very exposed to the environment around him, to represent that his work, which he completes in the space, is very much in the public eye, even if he isn't.
